The patented LEVX® Zero Energy Permanent Magnet Suspension System provides full levitation of heavy loads while consuming no energy. Rolling and static drag, associated with traction and the weight of the payload are eliminated and no magnetic drag is created, allowing for smooth, rapid acceleration with vastly reduced power requirements.
The patented LEVX® Hybrid Non-Contact Linear Drive, developed for use in combination with the Permanent Magnet Suspension System, provides efficient, physically disconnected propulsion and dynamic braking.
The LEVX® Anchoring and Alignment System, developed during the construction of rail system test sections provides a simplified and economical method of installing the rail system during construction.
System Notes:
• Permanent magnets
- The system utilizes only powerful, steady state, room temperature permanent magnets.
- Eliminates issues connected with health hazards associated with electromagnetic energy fields.• Zero Energy Magnetic Suspension
- Permanent magnets imbedded in the track rails provide a uniform polarity along its length.
- Similar permanent magnets positioned in a unique configuration on the underside of each platform oppose those in the rails; achieving stable levitation at a wide air gap.Levitation requires zero energy input, no connection to local utilites, no control systems or sensors to maintain a stable wide air gap (1 inch minimum). The guideway is not electrified and requies no wayside substations or power conditioning equipment.
Vehicles require no weight bearing wheels as the carriages never touch the rails, even when standing still in a station.
• Hybrid Non Contact Propulsion / Braking
- Produces forward (or backward) force with the linear torque rail in the guideway.
- Produces no magnetic drag associated with electromagnetic systems.
Vehicles are powered by an onboard power generation unit that keep batteries charged and ready for use. The system requires no overhead electrical wires and no electrified third rail in the guideway.

- Platform guidance will be provided largely by the guideway structure itself.
- Non-traction, shock absorbing guidance rollers rotate freely maintaining a centered platform position and providing stability when corning.• Automation / safety
