The patented Permanent Magnet Suspension System allows LEVX® vehicles to float, without an energy source. Patented LEVX® technologies combine to create a highly efficient and cost effective ways of moving heavy objects. LEVX® systems feature platforms, magnetically suspended over a railway. Each platform can be equipped with a patented non-contact linear propulsion system, redundant safety systems, communications and controls.
Platforms are levitated above rails incorporating basic principles of magnetic repulsion. The Permanent Magnet Suspension System includes powerful, steady state, room temperature permanent magnets within the track rails. Permanent magnets are also positioned on the underside of each levitating platform to oppose those in the rails in a unique patented configuration. LEVX® achieves everlasting stable levitation at very wide air gaps and provides for smooth, vibration free transport.
The patented LEVX® Permanent Magnet Suspension System is the core technology that provides a quantum leap in transportation efficiency by eliminating the static drag associated with weight bearing wheels. Another important feature of LEVX® system is that it does not experience “magnetic drag” as do current electromagnetic mag-lev systems.

Magnetic fields are well contained within the LEVX permanent magnetic suspension system
The incredibly strong anti-gravitational effects on the LEVX® platform and its payload weight is provided by powerful permanent magnets. Once floating, several thousand pounds of payload can be accelerated and propelled utilizing a small (less than 1 horsepower) electric motor.
The patented LEVX® technology replaces complex, energy intensive systems with simple mechanical devices. The LEVX® levitation system does not depend on power or system controls to maintain fail-safe continuous levitation at all speeds or when completely stopped. This perpetual defiance of gravity eliminates many costly system components such as load bearing wheels and sensors, dramatically reducing overall system costs.
A unique patented non-contact propulsion system is preferred to accelerate and decelerate LEVX® platforms. The system produces a forward or backward force with the linear torque rail in the guideway. This is just the opposite of conventional linear induction motors, used in some mag-lev and monorail systems, where waves of electromagnetic pulses produce magnetic flux. These complex systems have inherent faults, such as magnetic drag, producing a significant negative effect on overall system efficiency. LEVX®‘s rail to platform interface generates no magnetic drag.
